Former Arsenal star and now television pundit, Ian Wright has said he would not be surprised to see Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen joining the English Premier League this summer.
Osimhen recently helped Napoli win the Scudetto after 33 years, with the Nigerian the man of the moment in Italy thanks to his impressive performances this season so far.
Many clubs are now interested in signing the Super Eagles striker and it will likely be a big battle for his current club to keep their star beyond the current season.
Napoli president, Aurelio De Laurentiis has made it clear that he is not interested in selling Osimhen and wants the highly-rated player to help the club retain their Serie A title next term.
Despite this, according to the reports by Complete Sports and Daily Post, Wright stated Chelsea are going to try by all means to sign for former Lille strongman this summer.
Wright said:
“I wonder where he’s going to end up? It wouldn’t surprise me if it was Chelsea. Chelsea are going to try and get him I think.”
🚨 Chelsea are set to put a move for Victor Osimhen on hold as they believe agreeing a deal with Napoli would be too difficult this summer.
