The encounter was in a preseason friendly, and Rasheedat Ajibade proved herself to be one of the reliable forwards in the world ahead of the new season for her team.
Rasheedat Ajibade recently made a return to her team in Spain after a disappointing campaign with the Super Falcons in Morocco in the 2022 Women African Cup of Nations.
She was in action in the semifinal against the host nation and was red carded as Super Falcons of Nigeria finished the tie with nine women. But despite the red card shown to Ajibade and Halimatu, the Super Falcons forced the encounter into penalties before losing 5-4.
According to the report on Pulse, Ajibade expressed happiness for scoring three goals for Atletico Madrid as she promised to continue working hard.
She said:
“The team has done well, and the most important thing is that we have won because that is the objective, to win all the games with the Atleti shirt, it doesn’t matter if it’s a pre-season match, a friendly or a competition, we just have to play to win.
“It is a good match to understand each other more as a team, to understand our patterns and structures, and to build on what we have been learning during the week.”
