Olivier Giroud took over from Thiery Henry as the highest goal scorer for the French national team. The former Chelsea player achieved this feat in the Round of 16 matches against Poland at the ongoing Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup. Giroud scored the opening goal of the match in the last minutes of the first half.
