‘Its Good To See The New Cats Like Burna Boy, Rema Come Up’ – Davido

Davido has opened up on how the afrobeats global trend started with him and Wizkid mentioning how other artists like Burna Boy, Asake, Rema, and many more are contributing in recent times.

In an interview with Brut Afrique, award-winning singer, and performer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, opened up on the first two Nigerian artists that put the afrobeats sound on the global music map.

Davido mentioned how the popularity of afrobeats worldwide started with him and Wizkid, noting how other artists such as Burna Boy, Rema, Asake and many more have continued to promote the sound recently.

Davido, in the video, revealed:

Everybody knows Wizkid and I blew it up its good to see the new cats like Burna, Rema come up 

The singer, who has set numerous records with his fourth studio album titled ‘Timeless’, which was released on the 31st of March 2023, is set to go on a North American tour. Before now, the singer had hinted at releasing the deluxe version of ‘Timeless’ with the Mavin Records CEO, Don Jazzy.
