Chelsea fans resorted to a hilarious chant after the team took the lead against Bournemouth in an interesting encounter on Saturday, May 6.
Caretaker manager went into the game at the Vitality stadium still searching for his first win back at Chelsea, with the club languishing in 12th place on the log.
The Blues, who lost all four league games under Lampard prior to the Bournemouth game, took the head early through Conor Gallagher’s header from N’Golo Kante’s cross, according to BBC.
But cracks in the West London side’s overall game showed once again as Bournemouth equalized through Matias Vina.
Lampard had made wholesome changes to the side that lost to Arsenal, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Raheem Sterling getting relegated to the bench.
It was Chukwunonso Madueke who was picked to start on the flank, and he proved to be a consistent menace for Bournemouth with his pace and ability to take on players in a 1v1 situation.
The two sides cancelled each other out for most of the second half, but Chelsea pushed for a winner, and it came in the 82nd minute courtesy of Benoît Ntambue Badiashile.
Soon after the defender’s goal, the Vitality stadium was filled with chants from the travelling support, who were thrilled their team was leading a game; something that has become a rarety in recent weeks.
In a video shared on Twitter by @UberChelseaFC, thrilled fans danced with joy as they chanted “We are staying up, We are staying up”.
