Peter Obi apologizes to Muslims on the behalf of his supporters who placed his election poster on the mat during a Muslim prayer.

The Labour Party Presidential Candidate in 2023 Nigerian election, Peter Obi has faulted his team for the inclusion of his image on the praying mat. On Thursday an image of Muslims praying mat with the image of Peter Obi surfaced online, sparkling alot of negative reactions.

Many people tagged it as religion apathy while others argued that no offense was meant.

Reacting to the news, the presidential candidate, Peter Obi expressed his disappointment as the aim for the donation was criticized, he further stress that, he can never be part of any form of  apathy or blasphemy to any religion.

He further stated that Muslim has been one of the religions he so much have respect for their faith and believes.

Posting on his Twitter account, he said:

“The inclusion of my picture on the praying mat by a support group was misguided, even with the best of intentions. It didn’t emanate from my campaign team. I have deep respect for the Muslim Faith And Indeed”.

“We will never mock any faith, ethnicity or gender. We are one Nigeria”. -PO

Nigerians Reactions As Peter Obi Apologizes

Reacting to his post, many Nigerian were overwhelmed by his humble approach and apology regarding him as a humble man who possess a sparkling sense of softness and gentleness. Others blamed it on Reno Omokri for inciting a religious argument against Peter which is obviously due to their political differences.
